Hadith:
(Source: Al-Bayhaqi, Sunan al-Kubra (Hadith 11680))
English Translation
There was no ransom for some of the prisoners of Badr, so the Messenger of Allah made their ransom to be that they teach the children of the Ansar how to write. So a boy from the Ansar came crying to his father one day and his father asked him what was wrong. He said, "My teacher beat me." The father said, "The evil one is seeking to destroy Badr. By Allah, you will never go to him.
